Cycling in the Velodrome

Friday 22Jan16 I went cycling in the Olympic Velodrome which was very exciting. I did an adult taster session which lasted for about an hour and there were around 10-12 other cyclists taking part. I liked going to the venue as it is a very impressive place and I have been wanting to ride here for some time. On the day my mum, Nanny Lin and Grandad Dennis came with me.

We had a brief talk discussing how to ride the bikes on the circuit and to go over the safety issues. It was difficult to ride the bikes as they do not have any gears or brakes. Because of this it was hard to get started and I did not want to go too fast as I wanted to be safe. It was much harder to ride on the circuit then it looked when I have been here to watch the professionals before.

I was pleased that I managed to do the cycling at the velodrome and happy when I got my certificate at the end of the session from Darren the coach. Below are some picture from the day:
