Museum of Docklands

Friday 21st June 2024 I went to the Museum of Docklands with my auntie Denise. We travelled there on the Elizabeth line from Ilford to Canary Wharf, this was my fifth time to the museum. They had a new exhibition called Fashion City. For the first time, this exhibition uncovers the major contribution of Jewish designers in making London an iconic fashion city. Discover the stories behind the Jewish fashion makers who became leaders in their industries, founded retail chains still on the high street today, and dressed the rich and famous – including David Bowie, Princess Diana and Mick Jagger. On Tuesday I went to the Harvester Beehive Lane Ilford for Father’s Day where I had salad, bread rolls, chicken burger chips and beans. For dessert I had a rocky horror sundae which was delicious.   3. Thanks for sharing your visit Nathan. We’ve been to the Museum Of London many times, did you know Daniel used to volunteer there? We hadn’t heard about this exhibition, and as my Dad and many of our family worked in the rag trade in the East End, we’ll definitely now go for a look x
