Beano Exhibition

Friday 21st January 2022 I went to the Beano Exhibition at Somerset House with My Auntie Denise The Winter Lights at Canary Wharf got postponed so I decided to revisit the Beano Exhibition as it is ending in March and it was one of my favourite blog days. We went straight there on the District Line from Upney to Temple. Then we stepped into the pages of the comic and took a trip into Beanotown to explore how this beloved icon of British comics that has fired up successive generations to break the rules, while discovering artists who push boundaries in their own original and wonderful ways. We came face-to-face with the Beano gang – including Dennis and Gnasher, Minnie the Minx, Bananaman and the Bash Street Kids – through original comic artwork and amazing artefacts, plundered from the Beano’s archive. Afterwards we went to Frankie and Benny’s around the corner from Somerset House where I had chicken burger, chips and garlic bread, for dessert I had a cookie dough. Below are some pictures from my day and also if you like reading my blog please comment.
