St Paul’s Cathedral

Friday 14th October I went to St Paul’s Cathedral with my dad Kevin and my Nanny Pat. We met Kevin at Liverpool Street station and then made our way to St. Paul’s on the Central Line where we had a quick spot of lunch at Gourmet Burger Kitchen which is right by the cathedral.  After lunch we went to the cathedral and had a look around the cathedral floor before making our way up to the galleries. We climbed the steps to the Whispering Gallery, then climbed some more up to Stone Gallery and then more steps to the the Golden Gallery which is right on top of the big dome. All in we climbed 528 steps. When we walked out outside in the Golden Gallery the views were superb we could see all of London stretched in front of us and we spent some time finding and recognising all the famous landmarks. Nanny Pat at 74 did ever so well in climbing all the steps although she was a little uneasy about being so high up in the outdoor gallery. After enjoying the views we made our way down all the 528 steps again and went into the crypt were we saw some tombs of some very famous people (Sir Christopher Wren, Duke of Wellington & Horatio Nelson) and learnt about the great fire of london and the building of St. Paul’s. After all that climbing we were in need of a cuppa so we visited the cafe before making our way back home on the Central Line. I really enjoyed my day in London visiting St. Paul’s, below are some pictures from our day:
