Friday 28th April 2017 I went away for the weekend with my family to Rutland Water. We stayed in a cottage in a small town called Edith Weston. After settling into the cottage we went to the local pub called the Wheatsheaf for dinner and I had a lovely scampi and chips. On Saturday we drove to Peterborough it took us 30 mins in the car, first me, my dad and Barney went for a walk through the town to Railworld by the River Nene I really like this place there was lots of interesting things about trains and I really liked looking at the model railways. Then we had something to eat and I went shopping at Queensgate shopping centre. In the evening we drove to the Fox and Hounds pub in North Luffingham where we had a nice family meal. On Sunday we all went for a walk with Barney to Normanton Church at Rutland Water where I enjoyed a nice big ice cream overlooking the beautiful lake. For lunch we drove to the Lord Nelson pub at Oakham where I had dough balls, pizza and ice cream. After lunch we visited the nearby Oakham Castle where we saw their unusual horse shoe collection, had fun dressing up and bought some bits from the gift shop. On Monday we went home also on the way home we went to a pub called The White Horse in Oakington. Below are some pictures from my weekend and also if you like reading my blog please comment.
