Campervan Hoilday

On Saturday 23rd June I went on holiday with my mum, dad and dog Barney to Dorset and Devon. We drove to Luton where we picked up our motorhome that we would be using for our holiday and then headed south for our first stop a small campsite just outside the New Forest arriving in the early evening. We parked up and settled in and then went for a short walk to the local pub where we had a drink and some food. On Sunday we travelled west to Bridport in Dorset where we stayed at a large family holiday resort where we had a nice pitch with beautiful views to the cliffs and sea. We went for a walk along the coastal path to Westbay where we had an ice cream in the harbour before walking along the beach back to the resort with Barney playing in the sea. On Monday we headed towards Dawlish in Devon where we were staying for two nights. On the first day we got there we got the train from Starcross to Teignmouth which was a beautiful short trip right next to the sea. At Teignmouth we walked through the town and visited the pier where we played some amusements before Barney had a play on the beach before we got a bus and train back to the holiday park. On Tuesday we walked to Starcross again where this time we got the ferry across the Exe Estuary to nearby resort of Exmouth. The ferry trip was only 20 minutes but it was a lovey trip and again the views were super. We liked Exmouth a lot, we went to the town centre and then to the beach. The weather had been lovely all the time we had been away and today was the same it was hot with big bright blue skies. We spent some time at a very nice café/bar by the beach called Oceans where we played some video games and had some drinks before strolling back along the beach with Barney to the ferry port. In the evening I went for a swim with my dad in the indoor pool before having a nice evening meal. On Wednesday we headed for Paignton for our next stay stopping on the way at Babbacome Model Village. I really like the model village it was very pretty and the models were fantastic. They had some really interesting and fun things at the model village and at the end before we left we watched a short 4D film which was fun. In the afternoon after we arrived at the holiday park we took a walk to the local beach Goodrington Sands. Again it was a lovely day and we enjoyed the arcades and playing with Barney on the beach. On Thursday we got a bus to the nearby resort of Paignton. It was a lovely day again and we spent some time on the pier playing in the amusements before we had lunch in the town. In the afternoon we visited nearby Tourquay and had a still around the harbour but it was so hot for our dog Barney we took him to the beach again at Goodrington Sands where he enjoyed splashing around with the many other dogs in the sea. Friday was our last day in Devon and we took Barney for a walk to beach at Goodrington again before starting our long journey home. We stopped off on Friday evening at a small touring site near Chippenham before returning the motorhome to Toddington on Saturday morning. We had such a lovely time on our holiday the weather was glorious and we enjoyed all the places we visited especially Goodrington Sands, Teignmouth and Cotton Holiday Park. Mum and Dad are already talking about returning to Devon again next year.Below are some pictures from my day and also if you like reading my blog please comment.
